Inspired by the dramatic vistas of County Down, Ireland, Gilly Mackenzie's work captures texture, light and motion through mixed media; chalk, charcoal, acrylic, oils and watercolour.

She photographs the local landscape, attempting to capture awe-inspiring coastal light which she uses as reference in her paintings. 

Gilly accepts commissions for portraits, in the medium of charcoal and soft pastel, based on photographs of her subject.
